Sing for Life

Friends-- Many of you know that I'm a 13-year survivor of breast cancer. As a singer in newVoices, formerly the White Heron Chorale, we have several BC survivors so we decided to dedicate our upcoming October 19 concert to BC survivors and their families. Our music is not depressing. Rather it's uplifting, hopeful, and touching. The music and the words are so moving, I know you will be impacted by the message of hope, life, love and faith. For those of you who have never attended a concert by newVoices, formerly White Heron Chorale, we are 75 men and women and 25 high school students who sing a range of musical forms. In this concert, we'll have some familiar hymns, folks songs, spirituals, and some new compositions that are so beautiful, they make me cry. For a look at our repertoire, please visit our blog. As a special treat, we have a FREE, pre-concert talk by Dr. Deidre Flanagan, MD on breast cancer and life after a breast cancer diagnosis. Dr. Flanagan is a breast cancer surgeon at Appleton's St. Elizabeth Hospital and her talk will begin at 6:15 in room 156 behind the Lawrence Chapel.
