SUMMARY:Sing for Life
DESCRIPTION:Friends--\nMany of you know that I'm a 13-year survivor of breast cancer. As a singer in newVoices\, formerly the White Heron Chorale\, we have several BC survivors so we decided to dedicate our upcoming October 19 concert to BC survivors and their families. \n\nOur music is not depressing. Rather it's uplifting\, hopeful\, and touching. The music and the words are so moving\, I know you will be impacted by the message of hope\, life\, love and faith. For those of you who have never attended a concert by newVoices\, formerly White Heron Chorale\, we are 75 men and women and 25 high school students who sing a range of musical forms. In this concert\, we'll have some familiar hymns\, folks songs\, spirituals\, and some new compositions that are so beautiful\, they make me cry. For a look at our repertoire\, please visit our blog. \n\nAs a special treat\, we have a FREE\, pre-concert talk by Dr. Deidre Flanagan\, MD on breast cancer and life after a breast cancer diagnosis. Dr. Flanagan is a breast cancer surgeon at Appleton's St. Elizabeth Hospital and her talk will begin at 6:15 in room 156 behind the Lawrence Chapel.\n\nTickets are $22-$18 and are available online or you can call our newVoices office at 920-832-9700. Here's the concert info and I really hope you can join us. \nSing for Life Saturday\, October 19\, 2013 7:30 pm\nLawrence University Memorial Chapel\, Appleton\nWe harness the healing power of music to provide hope and strength for past and current breast cancer patients and their families. Our concert is built around the themes of hope\, faith\, life\, and love with music that celebrates the joy of being alive\, the sadness of loss and the enduring power of love and faith. We will present a range of musical styles including sacred songs\, folks songs\, hymns\, musical theatre and even a beautiful Beatles song. We welcome the High School Master Singers to this concert and friends and family members from their schools. We also welcome patients and families served by St. Elizabeth
