Pulling for Honor
Hello Business Travel Managers & Community Friends,
Appleton Airport will be hosting an exciting event on Sept 9!
Pulling for Honor is a competitive airplane pull, with all proceeds benefiting Old Glory Honor Flight.
We’ll be pulling FedEx’s 200,000 pound A300 (shown below), pitting teams of 20 against one another, to see who can pull the aircraft 12 feet the fastest.
Prizes will be award in several fun categories!

Here are 4 ways you can participate:
- Organize a team to pull the airplane
- Your organization could be a sponsor! (email Katie, if this interests you) Katie.Horan@outagamie.org
- We’re looking for veterans’ service groups to participate as exhibitors
- Volunteer to help us run the event
- Bring your family to enjoy the fun!
Where: Platinum Flight Center on the south end of the Appleton International Airport (N259 Ares Drive)
Time: Gates open at 10:00 am. Pulling begins at 11:00 am.
How it Works: Teams consist of a maximum of 20 members. Each team must collect a minimum of $1,500 for the privilege of competing in this exclusive event—all proceeds benefit Old Glory Honor Flight.
What to Expect: Lots of family fun. FREE admission and FREE parking for general public/spectators. Food served out of the Delta Grill It Plane! Exhibitors from veteran’s organizations (providing vital information regarding services available for veterans in our community), Military displays, the FedEx NASCAR, and various aircraft displays. PLUS an opportunity for kids to pull a smaller aircraft!
