State Rep. Joy Goeben
About Us
Representative Joy Goeben is a Wisconsin native, grew up in the greater Green Bay area, and lives in Hobart. She is married to Ben and has four wonderful children. Joy is currently serving her first term representing Wisconsin?s 5th Assembly District. She attended Green Bay East High School and received her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay.
After graduation, she taught 6th grade communication arts in the Ashwaubenon Public School District. She furthered her studies by completing her master's degree in education from Walden University. When Joy started her family, she opened a childcare center that she owned and operated for 10 years. Currently, Joy assists her husband in the operation of their family business.
Joy has always valued serving others and has volunteered in many wonderful organizations. Some of her current and past volunteer work includes serving on the GBACH Board (GBACH is a 501(c)3 education-oriented non-profit in the Greater Green Bay Area), serving on the board for the YMCA swim team, being a parent manager for the Green Bay Boy Choir and Girl Choir, and many years as a soccer coach for De Pere Rapids Youth Soccer. Joy has also served as a youth leader and on the leadership committee at Christ Alone Church.
In the State Legislature, Joy will prioritize keeping taxes low, limiting government waste, and fighting for personal and economic freedom. She is particularly passionate about ensuring educational freedom, protecting life, and supporting strong families.
