ALICE - ACTIVE SHOOTER RESPONSE TRAINING
It is very unfortunate that we need to address this topic in our seemingly safe haven of the Heart of the Valley. However, the tragedy of an active shooter or violent intruder is getting out of control and our local communities and businesses have been affected far too much already. The HOTV Chamber cares about our communities, chamber members, families and friends. The Orlando tragedy has made it imperative that we bring awareness and education on this subject sooner than later to ensure your safety.
We have partnered with The Kaukauna Police Department to hold a hands-on Active Shooter Response Training Class, ALICE. ALICE – stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate. It is a set of proactive, options-based strategies, that increase your chances of survival during a violent intruder or Active Shooter event. This day long training course is designed to teach you the skills and strategies that bridge the gap between the time a violent event begins and law enforcement arrives.
- You will become knowledgeable in statistics and information about active shooter situations and how ALICE training is effective.
- You will experience live scenario drills that will take you through an active shooting and how to respond.
- You will be able to create an emergency response plan to implement within your organization.
