What is the Food System?
The food system spans the activities, people and resources involved in getting food from field to plate. Along the way, it intersects with aspects of public health, equity and the environment.
A local food system is s food sysytme in which food production, processing, distribution and consumption ar integratred to enhance the environment,l, ecodmic, social na d nutrial food system can refer to a relativieely small area, such as neighborhood oro progressively larger areas - towns, cities, countris, regions or bioregions.
