DESCRIPTION:Please join Dr. Lisa Nebel to discuss the aging process and why we are at risk for falls as we age. She will identify specific risk factors for falls and give recommendations to prevent falls.\n\n\n\nDr. Lisa Nebel has been employed by St. Paul Elder Services since 2004 and named Director of Rehabilitation in 2008. Dr. Nebel received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science/Motor Control from the University of Iowa and Master of Science and Clinical Doctorate Degrees in Physical Therapy from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences. She has extensive clinical experience and a special interest in the treatment of geriatric and neurological patients. She enjoys teaching not only at the clinical level with students and peers\, but also in the educational setting. Dr. Nebel received the Instructional Excellence Award from FVTC while teaching anatomy and physiology in the Department of Science. Dr. Nebel received the Clinical Excellence Award in 2005 for her Doctoral Project\, "If you fall\, you may not land in your own home."
