SUMMARY:Business Before Hours: Juggling Work Life and Caregiving: A Community Need and Call to Action
DESCRIPTION:According to the Family Caregiver Alliance \, 1 in 6 Americans who work full or part-time report that they also assist with the care of a family member\, relative\, or friend who are living with a disability\, mental illness\, dementia\, or effects of aging. This assistance significantly affects the wellbeing of the caregiver as well as his/her work life. Often working caregivers feel a sense of obligation to care for their family member or friend and either prefer to not seek help/support or they are not aware of the community resources available. Ultimately\, the stress of this dual role leads to caregiver fatigue and significant stressors in the workplace. \n\n \n\nPlease join us to brainstorm with a local panel of experts to further identify unmet community needs and create a plan to support caregivers and persons living with chronic conditions due to aging\, dementia\, and mental health in the heart of the valley.\n\n \n\nIn Partnership with:\n\n \n\nHeart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce\n\nSt. Paul Elder Services\, Inc\n\nADRC\n\nFox Valley Memory Project\n\nAlzheimer's Association\n\nCovey\n\nCenter for Suicide Awareness\n\nThompson Center of Lourdes\n\nAnd other Community Action Groups To Be Confirmed
